Day 01 :

Day 01 - Arrival in Gangtok

Pickup's from Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station, then it's the drive up to Gangtok, roughly four to five hours depending on the roads. Once you're checked in, there's time in the evening to walk MG Marg, which is where most of Gangtok's evening life happens. Overnight in Gangtok.

Day 02 :

Day 02 - Gangtok to Lachung

It's a long one today, five to six hours north to Lachung, and the roads get properly steep and winding along the way. But the scenery keeps changing the whole time - pine forests, waterfalls, tiny villages that feel like a completely different world from Gangtok. Overnight in Lachung.

Day 03 :

Day 03 - Yumthang Valley and Zero Point

Early start for Yumthang Valley today. Time it right and the whole place turns into a spread of rhododendrons, but even outside that season the mountains around it do plenty of the work on their own. If the roads are cooperating, you might push on to Zero Point too - that's basically where the road just gives up and the snow takes over. Back to Lachung by evening. Overnight in Lachung.

Day 04 :

Day 04 - Lachung to Gangtok

Drive back down to Gangtok, retracing the same route but somehow it looks different heading the other way. Rest of the day's free once you arrive - good time to just relax after two days of higher altitude and long drives. Overnight in Gangtok.

Day 05 :

Day 05 - Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir

Head up to Tsomgo Lake, sitting close to 12,000 feet and often calm enough to reflect the mountains around it. From there, visit Baba Mandir, a shrine that draws people well beyond just sightseeing - the story behind it tends to stick with visitors. Overnight in Gangtok.

Day 06 :

Day 06 - Gangtok Local Sightseeing

Spend today closer to the city. Rumtek Monastery is the main stop, worth visiting regardless of religious interest just for the setting and architecture. Take the Gangtok Ropeway afterward for a different view of the town, then use whatever's left of the day for MG Marg or last-minute shopping. Overnight in Gangtok.

Day 07 :

Day 07 - Departure

After breakfast and check-out, you'll be transferred back to Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station. Seven days, two very different sides of Sikkim - Gangtok's mix of culture and city life, and Lachung's quieter, higher, more remote feel.
